Heartland Alternative Peer Group (APG)

The Heartland APG Program launched in 2021 to foster an enthusiastic recovery community for young people and their families throughout central Ohio. The APG creates a safe, supportive, and fun recovery environment among peers.  Heartland High School's APG programming provides afterschool and weekend support for its students. This unique program integrates meaningful peer connection while providing tools for lifelong recovery skill-building.

Heartland's APG program collaborates with our Family Coach to enhance parent engagement. Currently, our APG students participate in a variety of local recovery support meetings, yoga, and weekly sessions with a local nonprofit called We Amplify Voices (WAV). WAV allows our students to work with professional musicians and experienced group facilitators to create art that reflects their recovery and life experience.
